|JERRY M. DE ST. PAER TO JOIN AIG AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE|
NEW YORK--March 1, 2007--American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced that Jerry M. de St. Paer will join AIG in early April as Senior Vice President, Finance. He will report to AIG Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Steven J. Bensinger, assisting Mr. Bensinger and other senior members of financial management with a number of important corporate initiatives as well as representing AIG in the development of international insurance accounting and solvency standards.
Mr. de St. Paer was most recently Executive Vice President and CFO of XL Capital Ltd, a position he held since 2001. Prior to joining XL Capital Ltd, he was a Managing Director of Hudson International, an insurance investment banking firm. He was also a Managing Director in the Insurance Division of JP Morgan.
Prior to that, Mr. de St. Paer served as Senior Executive Vice President & CFO of The Equitable Companies. He was also Executive Vice President of AXA, responsible for global corporate development. Mr. de St. Paer joined The Equitable in 1986 as CFO of Equitable Investment Management Corporation. He was elected Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Equitable Life in 1990, and in 1991 Executive Vice President and head of Corporate Development. In 1992, he was named CFO of Equitable Life and Executive Vice President and CFO of The Equitable Companies.
Mr. de St. Paer is a member of the Insurance Working Group of the International Accounting Standards Board, a member of the Accountancy Task Force of the Geneva Association, a director of the Group of North American Insurance Enterprises, a member of the Financial Executives Institute, and a member of the Finance Advisory Committee of the Bermuda Hospital Trust Fund.
Mr. de St. Paer holds a BA degree from North Central College in Illinois and an MA degree from Johns Hopkins University's Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He studied corporate finance at the Graduate School of Business at New York University.
