NEW YORK--June 22, 2006--Lexington Insurance Company, a member company of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), today announced Evacuation Response Coverage for select healthcare and higher education institutions. The coverage insures policyholders for evacuation expenses incurred as a result of complying with mandatory evacuation orders from local civil authorities.
Lexington's Evacuation Response Coverage insures policyholders against expenses incurred for transportation, shelter, food and medical care for patients, students and essential employees in response to a mandatory evacuation order. The coverage insures an evacuation period lasting up to 30 days and can be written to protect multiple locations. Direct physical loss or damage is not required to trigger coverage.
"We created Evacuation Response Coverage as a way to further protect our healthcare and higher education customers against the costs related to mandatory evacuations," said George Stratts, Property Division Executive and Senior Vice President, Lexington Insurance Company. "This coverage represents Lexington's further commitment to these industries with added protection, which is particularly needed during storm seasons."
