Lexaehelp.com Provides On-Line Seminars Fulfilling Continuing Education Credit Requirements
NEW YORK--April 3, 2006--Lexington Insurance Company, a member company of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), today announced a new online site, www.lexaehelp.com, to provide relevant information to professionals carrying architects and engineers (A&E) liability insurance. The new Web site was created to provide insureds with access to ongoing education modules, contractual information and legal information resources.
"Because of the specialized liability concerns of architects and engineers, we created www.lexaehelp.com to give our A&E insureds resources specific to their field - including on-line classes that satisfy state requirements - to assist in mitigating risks and liabilities," said Kevin Kelley, CEO, Lexington Insurance Company.
Created as a free service for Lexington's and New Hampshire Insurance Company's A&E insureds, www.lexaehelp.com provides architects and engineers with a multitude of risk management and educational resources, ranging from legal information resources to certified online education. Included on the Web site are complimentary continuing education modules. The free on-line classes are approved by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training and satisfy the continuing education credit requirements needed for architects and engineers to retain state licenses. Class offerings will include construction phase risk management issues; dispute prevention; how to minimize liability in a litigious environment; public project procurement; managing client expectations; and tax planning issues. Periodically course offerings will be added.
The site also has a large section on contracts, an area that is often the root of litigious matters for architects and engineers. The contracts section enables Lexington's A&E insureds to connect with a leading construction law firm, via the www.lexaehelp.com Web site, to help develop contracts that best meet the needs of a particular project. This free service is meant to help save money in legal fees, mitigate risk exposure and avoid future litigation.
Lexington's www.lexaehelp.com has numerous resources architects and engineers can reference for contract and claims issues, including a reading room link with a section devoted to contract guidelines and contract issues and a claims scenarios link, which provides detailed case histories of claims and cases. A map of the United States provides A&E insureds with easy access to get state laws pertaining to architects and engineers.
Moreover, the site includes information specific to educate architects and engineers on how to vet clients to help ensure that the potential client and project are advantageous for the insured's firm.
