NEW YORK--March 31, 2006--AIG Aviation Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), has named William E. Lovett as Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer-North America, Peter S. Jarrett as Chief Financial and Reinsurance Officer and Michael Barrett as Chief Claims Officer. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, AIG Aviation is a leading U.S.-based underwriter of insurance products for personal, corporate and commercial aviation.
In his new position, Mr. Lovett is responsible for the underwriting of the various market segments and product lines available through AIG Aviation. Mr. Lovett joined AIG Aviation in 1991 in Atlanta and has managed several product lines in the home office-underwriting unit. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1991 and served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Reserve for 19 years.
Peter Jarrett, who, since 2003 has served as Chief Reinsurance Officer of AIG Aviation, Inc., will expand his responsibilities by overseeing the financial as well as the reinsurance operations in AIG Aviation's U.S. and London offices. Mr. Jarrett joined the AIG companies in 1979 in Bermuda, serving in various accounting and captive management positions until 1986, when he was named Assistant Comptroller of AIG Aviation. In 1992, he was named American International Domestic Brokerage Group Southeast Region Operation Manager. He subsequently served as Executive Vice President/General Manager of the AIG Truck Insurance Group.
In his new role, Michael Barrett will oversee all aspects of claims management at AIG Aviation. He comes to AIG from Phoenix Aviation Managers, where he served as Senior Vice President, Director of Claims and Corporate Counsel. Mr. Barrett has more that 25 years of aviation industry experience, holds a Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University, is a member of the Florida and Georgia Bars and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Messrs. Lovett, Jarrett and Barrett will report to David Hupp, President and Chief Executive Officer, AIG Aviation, Inc.
