NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 27, 2005--American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has elected Christopher J. Swift AIG Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for its Life Insurance & Retirement Services operations. Mr. Swift succeeds David L. Herzog, who was recently named AIG Senior Vice President and Comptroller.
Previously, Mr. Swift served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the AIG American General Life Companies. He joined AIG in 2003 as AIG American General's Chief Financial Officer and head of its annuity operations. Prior to joining AIG, Mr. Swift worked for KPMG, where he had been a partner for over 10 years. Prior to KPMG, he was Executive Vice President for Conning Corporation, an investment services firm.
Mr. Swift is a graduate of Marquette University, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the International Insurance Society and the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA).
