NEW YORK, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced that AIG Vice President Charles H. Dangelo has been appointed AIG's Senior Reinsurance Officer, effective immediately. In this role, he will be responsible for all outward reinsurance relationships involving AIG companies.

Mr. Dangelo will continue to be based in New York, where most recently he had served as President of AIG Global Risk Management, Inc. (AIGGRM). Mr. Dangelo joined AIG in 1995 to head the AIG Domestic Brokerage Group Primary Casualty/Risk Management Unit. Prior to joining AIG, he had 25 years of insurance industry experience in underwriting and managing large, complex risks for major accounts. He was elected an AIG Vice President in 2002. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

Louis P. Iglesias succeeds Mr. Dangelo as AIGGRM President. Previously, he was the President of AIG Environmental. Mr. Iglesias joined AIG in 1994 and has served in senior roles including President of the Construction Division of AIG Risk Management.
