NEW YORK, Jun 17, 2005 -- American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced the record date and date of its 2005 Annual Meeting of Shareholders and additional steps taken by its Board of Directors to enhance its corporate governance structure.
The record date for the 2005 Annual Meeting of Shareholders is June 24, and the date of the meeting is August 11. The Meeting will take place at 10:00 AM at 72 Wall Street, New York, NY.
AIG's Board of Directors has approved changes in AIG's By-Laws and Governance Guidelines to reflect the Board's current belief that the Chairman should be an independent director and that at least two-thirds of the directors should be independent under New York Stock Exchange listing standards.
