National Union, Financial Executives International, NASDAQ, the National Association of Corporate Directors and Representatives from the Nation's Top Securities Litigation Defense Law Firms to Participate in Seminar Series

National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa.(R) (National Union), a member company of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), today announced a regional seminar series that will address the key liability issues facing directors & officers of small to mid-sized companies in today's business environment.

The seminar series will run in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Cleveland and Atlanta throughout the Fall. The first event will be at the Union League Club in New York City on October 7, 2003. The full schedule of events is as follows:

  • October 7 - Union League Club, New York, NY
  • October 8 - Marriott Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA
  • October 9 - Boston Marriott Newton, Newton, MA (Boston region)
  • October 15 - Omni Los Angeles Hotel, Los Angeles, CA
  • October 21 - Intercontinental Houston, Houston, TX
  • November 4 - The Sutton Place Hotel, Chicago, IL
  • November 5 - The Club at Key Center, Cleveland, OH
  • November 12 - The Four Seasons Hotel, San Francisco, CA
  • November 18 - Marriott Perimeter Center, Atlanta, GA

Each event will specifically deal with D&O issues that impact mid-sized and growing companies. Topics for discussion include: how changing market conditions are impacting business risk; how the current litigation environment effects management exposure; and an outlook on the future with respect to evolving D&O risks.

"Middle-market enterprises have unique D&O risks that need to be adequately addressed," said John Keogh, President and CEO of National Union. "The goal of this seminar series is to increase awareness about the risks particular to this market segment, and educate CFOs, risk managers, general counsels, board members and chief executives across the country as to the specific steps they can take to proactively address these exposures."

Throughout the series, National Union will be joined by representatives from Financial Executives International, NASDAQ, the National Association of Corporate Directors, and several of the nation's leading securities litigation defense firms.
