New York, July 22, 2002 - AIG Trading Group Inc. (AIG Trading), a member company of American
International Group, Inc. (AIG), has announced that it has named Joseph R. Buthorn as Vice President and
Head of Prime Brokerage. Mr. Buthorn will be based in Greenwich and report to John Wareham, AIG
Trading Executive Vice President responsible for Global Foreign Exchange and Emerging Markets.

Mr. Buthorn joins AIG Trading from Traiana Technologies where he was Executive Vice President
for Business Development. Prior to joining Traiana, Mr. Buthorn built and managed the Deutsche Bank and
Bankers Trust Foreign Exchange Prime Brokerage businesses. Mr. Buthorn earned an MBA from The
Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
