AIG eBUSINESS RISK SOLUTIONS NAMES EMILY FREEMAN VICE PRESIDENT, WESTERN REGION AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CONSULTING

NEW YORK, Apr 15, 2002 -- American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced that Emily Q. Freeman has joined AIG eBusiness Risk Solutions, a division of the American International Companies, as Vice President, Western Region and Executive Director of Consulting.

Her global experience and distinguished reputation will make a significant contribution to our existing AIGnetAdvantage team of underwriting and claims management specialists, and legal and technology professionals," said Gretchen Hayes, President, AIG eBusiness Risk Solutions.

Ms. Freeman was previously Vice President and eBusiness Risk Management and Consulting Director at Marsh Inc. In this position, she led the development of cyberspace insurance products and consulted major corporations on eBusiness risk management. She is a frequent speaker on eBusiness, intellectual property and other related risk and insurance issues and has authored articles on eBusiness risk management for a number of business and finance publications. She joined Marsh in 1998, when the firm merged with Sedgwick, where she was a member of the executive committee of Sedgwick's Technology Group.

Ms. Freeman is a graduate of the University of California. She is also a Distinguished Graduate of the Associate Underwriting Program of IIA and holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in Underwriting (AU) professional designations.
