NEW YORK, Feb 28, 2002 -- American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced that John Doyle has been named President of American Home Assurance Company, AIG's principal domestic provider of commercial umbrella/excess liability and primary and excess workers' compensation insurance.

Previously, Mr. Doyle served as Executive Vice President of AIG's Domestic Brokerage Group. Mr. Doyle joined AIG in 1986 in the Management Liability Division of National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa. In 1994, he assumed a management role in National Union's Professional Liability Division and was promoted to President of that Division in 1996. In 1998, he took on additional management responsibility for National Union's Middle Market Group. Prior to being named to his most recent position in 2000, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of AIG Environmental. Mr. Doyle is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Daniel Glaser will assume Mr. Doyle's former position with the Domestic Brokerage Group. In this role, he will have responsibilities for Field Operations and Market Segments. Previously, he was President of the American International Companies' Global Energy Division, Mr. Glaser joined AIG in 2000 with 18 years insurance brokerage experience, most recently at Willis Corroon, where he had been President of Willis Risk Solutions. He is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School.
