|AIG NAMES GERRY WYNDORF PRESIDENT AND MICHELE ABRUZZO SENIOR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE AIG LIFE COMPANIES (U.S.)|
NEW YORK, November 11, 1998 - American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has named Gerry Wyndorf President and Michele Abruzzo Senior Executive Vice President of the AIG Life Companies (U.S.). Mr. Wyndorf succeeds Robert J. O'Connell.|
Mr. Wyndorf, who had been Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the Domestic Life Companies, joined AIG in 1992 from Mutual of New York. Ms. Abruzzo, who joined AIG in 1991 as Director of International Pensions, had been Executive Vice President of the Domestic Life Companies responsible for market and product development and distribution for the financial institutions market.
Commenting on the appointments, AIG Chairman M.R. Greenberg said, "AIG has a strong and experienced life management group, both domestically and throughout our overseas network. I am confident Gerry Wyndorf and Michele Abruzzo will provide excellent leadership as we continue to grow our very successful U.S. life insurance business."
