NEW YORK, November 29, 2001 - AIG Trading Group Inc. (AIG Trading), an American International Group, Inc. (AIG) member company, has named Alan C. Benjamin as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Base Metals Markets.

Mr. Benjamin, who is based in Greenwich, CT, has been with AIG Trading since its inception in March 1990 in a succession of sales and trading positions that have included management of global base metals marketing, central bank marketing, and Asian operations as manager of the Hong Kong office.

Commenting on Mr. Benjamin's appointment, John J. Finigan, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG Trading Group Inc., said, "AIG Trading is firmly committed to the base metals business. The base metals markets have witnessed declining liquidity as many dealers have recently exited or scaled back their business. AIG Trading is uniquely positioned to expand its base metals business drawing on its professional reputation as a leading provider of services and liquidity in the commodity markets. We are pleased to have Alan Benjamin's breadth of experience at the helm of our operation as we continue this expansion."
