LEXINGTON INSURANCE COMPANY TO OFFER RISK REDUCTION PROGRAM FOR SEXUAL MISCONDUCT LIABILITY POLICYHOLDERS
BOSTON – February 19, 1998 - Lexington Insurance Company is now providing its sexual misconduct liability insurance policyholders access to a specialized risk reduction program to help insureds prevent sexual misconduct incidents.

The risk reduction program enables insureds to access the services of Child Safe Environments, Inc., a national leader in abuse risk management, at a reduced cost. The program evaluates an organization's operations and procedures related to the care of minors or other persons deemed legally incompetent. The policyholder receives a confidential report that includes a prioritized risk reduction plan with recommendations on how to correct problem areas.

Lexington's sexual misconduct liability insurance is designed for public, private or religious organizations where children are in the care of adults. The policy covers the insured entity, its employees and volunteers against allegations by an individual of sexual misconduct involving a minor or other person deemed legally incompetent. The policy also covers the insured for negligent selection, hiring and supervision of employees or contracted third parties that are entrusted with the care of children.

The policy is designed to pay all loss amounts that the insured is legally obligated to pay as a result of a covered allegation of sexual misconduct. The policy is available with limits of liability of up to $25 million.

“Virtually any public or private organization where children are in the care of adults have exposure to sexual misconduct claims. This is especially true for employers that provide on-site day-care facilities,” said Rocco P. Modafferi, Vice President, Lexington Insurance Company. “Such incidents can come out of nowhere and can have a significant impact on the organization's reputation and bottom line. Loss control services such as our risk reduction program can help reduce the likelihood of this type of incident.”
