BOSTON, January 5, 1998 - Lexington Insurance Company has enhanced its Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) policy to include new coverages.*

The policy addresses the exposures employers may face resulting from suits alleging discrimination, sexual harassment or wrongful termination. EPLI protects the corporate entity, directors, officers and other employees.

Lexington's enhanced EPLI policy now features punitive damage coverage, no co-insurance requirement, automatic coverage for acquisitions (if the employee total of the acquired company is 20 percent or less than the employee total of the insured), defense coverage for injunctive or non-monetary relief claims and a broadened definition of workplace torts. The policy can be endorsed to extend coverage to independent contractors and to cover third-party claims (e.g., discrimination claims brought by clients or customers). Coverage is available with limits of liability of up to $50 million.

EPLI policyholders can utilize Lexington's Integrated EPL Risk Management package of services which includes options such as employment practices audits by Baker & McKenzie, risk management consulting, a toll-free employment practices hot line, regional seminars and training, and an electronic human resources compliance reference system. All services are optional and are offered at no additional charge.
