AIG ANNOUNCES eBUSINESS INITIATIVES TO SERVE KEY AUDIENCES
NEW YORK, April 17, 2000 – American International Group, Inc. (NYSE:AIG) has announced a series of eBusiness initiatives designed to address the product distribution, customer service and informational needs of the wide range of businesses, consumers, brokers, agents and other key audiences served by the member companies of AIG. The core eBusiness web sites of AIG's member companies can now be accessed via the AIG Internet gateway page at www.aig.com.

“These initiatives further enhance the AIG member companies' distribution and level of service to our key audiences including insurance brokers, agents, insureds, businesses and consumers, and reinforces our commitment to eBusiness,” said Scott Alexander, head of U.S. eBusiness Division. “The gateway provides a central location for all audiences to reach AIG companies via the Internet and will serve as a destination for users to find out about and utilize our eBusiness initiatives.”

Among the new and enhanced eBusiness sites that can be accessed through the AIG Internet gateway are:

  • aigdirect.com for consumers and small businesses. www.aigdirect.com offers a comprehensive portfolio of personal lines and small business commercial insurance products underwritten by AIG member companies, coupled with advanced transactional capabilities providing customers with a direct, secure vehicle to conduct transactions online.

  • aigonline.com for risk managers and other business professionals. www.aigonline.com provides service, analytical tools and information focusing on risk management. The site includes a customer servicing center that will enable many AIG member company commercial insureds to monitor and manage their policy information and claims online.

  • accessaig.com for brokers, agents, registered representatives and broker/dealers. www.accessaig.com is specifically designed for property-casualty insurance brokers and agents working with AIG's Domestic Brokerage Group, life insurance producers of the AIG Life Companies (U.S.), and SunAmerica broker/dealers and licensed representatives. Each destination within accessaig.com provides detailed product and industry information and enables the user to maintain account information, conduct transactions, and communicate with local representatives of AIG member companies.

  • AIG International Operations, for those seeking product and services information in international markets. This site provides links to the life insurance, foreign general insurance and financial services operations of AIG member companies around the world.

  • aigcorporate.com, AIG's corporate web site for corporate information for the investment community, the media, employees and a range of other audiences seeking information about AIG and its global operations. www.aigcorporate.com's resources include an AIG newsroom, an investor information site, a global directory of, and links to, AIG member companies, the AIG annual report, a history of the AIG organization and other corporate information.
