AIG ASSET MANAGEMENT INTERNATIONAL, INC. NAMES BRENT BELL MANAGING DIRECTOR FOR SOUTHEAST ASIAN FUND DISTRIBUTION
NEW YORK, October 16, 2000 - AIG Asset Management International, Inc., a member company of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced that Brent Bell has been named to the newly created position of Managing Director for retail fund distribution in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Bell is charged with the responsibility of building third party distribution channels and developing the product line of AIG Asset Management International, Inc. in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and the Philippines.

"Brent's knowledge, leadership, energy and experience within the AIG Asset Management International operation, coupled with the strengths of our local country managers, will enable us to significantly grow our asset management opportunities in Southeast Asia," said Stuart Rogers, President of AIG Asset Management International, Inc..

Most recently, Mr. Bell had been Managing Director & Chief Executive of AIG Global Investment Company (East Africa) Limited, since the inception of that company. From 1990-1998, Mr. Bell was with EquitiLink Australia Limited, where he rose to the position of Director and Group General Manager.
