Chartis Names James E. Mostofi President of U.S. Warranty Division

NEW YORK – November 22, 2010 – Chartis today announced that James E. Mostofi has been named President of its U.S. Warranty Division, responsible for directing Chartis’ U.S. warranty and extended warranty insurance group.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jim to Chartis,” said Charles Williamson, President of Chartis’ U.S. Consumer Lines Segment. “He brings the distinctive blend of a seasoned warranty professional and experienced business executive to lead our organization.”

“Jim is joining us after a successful tenure at Service Net, which is one of our valued warranty administrators,” said Tom Marsh, President of Chartis’ Global Warranty Division. “His results-oriented management style and deep industry knowledge will be invaluable as he continues to build on our long history.”

Chartis’ Warranty Division is a global leader, serving many of the largest retailers and manufacturers in the world with operations in 50 countries. The division is one of the largest providers of non-auto warranty solutions and has served the international community for over 25 years.

Prior to joining Chartis, Mr. Mostofi spent 10 years at Service Net Warranty, LLC, a leading warranty administrator, where he served in various roles including General Counsel, Chief Financial Officer and most recently, Chief Operating Officer.

Previously, Mr. Mostofi spent several years advising warranty and non-warranty clients as a corporate attorney with Frost Brown Todd, LLC, specializing in merger and acquisitions and insurance regulatory matters. He began his career as a C.P.A., working at Ernst and Young for 10 years. Mr. Mostofi earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He also has an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance from Loyola University’s Graduate School of Business and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
