HONG KONG, July 22, 2007 - American International Group, Inc. (AIG), principal sponsor of Manchester United, announced it has extended the “AIG Goals for Kids” program to support the Manchester United's visit to the region, which takes place July 17 through July 27 in Japan, South Korea and China.

For each goal that Manchester United scores during the games in Macau and Guangzhou, AIG will donate HK $31,000 (equivalent to US$4,000) to TREATS, a Hong Kong-based charity group committed to promoting integration among children, youth and families from varying backgrounds and with differing abilities.

For the 2006-2007 season, AIG donated more than HK$1.8 million (£133,000) through the AIG Goals for Kids program to children's organizations in the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as UNICEF. Beginning this summer, the AIG Goals for Kids program will expand to support non-profit organizations in Asia, and around the globe.

“The AIG Goals for Kids Program has greatly benefited disadvantaged children in the greater Manchester area,” said Martin J. Sullivan, President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG. “Now, thanks to AIG's global sponsorship of one of the world's most admired sports teams, we look forward to expanding the program to make a difference in the lives of children around the world.”

“We are pleased to see the AIG Goals for Kids program expanding to Asia,” said Edmund Tse, Senior Vice Chairman of AIG. “We chose TREATS because their mission in encouraging integration within the community is worthwhile, and AIG is proud to fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”
